Impact Social Communication Rating Scale
The IMPACT Social Communication Rating Scale (ages 5-21) evaluates the impact of a child’s social communication on their social interactions, academic life, and home/after school life. The current rating scale asks parents, teachers, and clinicians to rate the various components of social communication on a 4-point scale (“not typically,” “sometimes,” “often,” and “typically”) and yields a percentile and standard score. By utilizing this rating scale, we are able to develop a better understanding of how a student’s social communication difficulties/differences may impact language development, as well as academic performance, and peer relationships. Please refer to the Test Manual for further details about this test.
Instructions for the clinicians: Although each rating scale (clinician, parent, teacher) is a stand-alone test, we highly recommend to complete all three tests in order to obtain more comprehensive results. After completion of each rating scale form, the system generates a protocol in pdf format that includes standard scores, percentile ranks, and educational impact analysis.
