Impact Rating Scales
The IMPACT Rating Scales (ages 3-11 and 5-21) evaluate the impact of a child’s social communication, language, articulation/phonology and/or stuttering on their social interactions, academic life, and home/after school life. The current rating scales ask parents, teachers, and clinicians to rate the various components of communication, language, articulation/phonology and/or stuttering on a 4-point scale (“not typically,” “sometimes,” “often,” and “typically”) and yields a percentile and standard score. By utilizing this rating scale, we are able to develop a better understanding of how a student’s communication difficulties/differences may impact language development, as well as academic performance, and peer relationships. Please refer to the specific rating scale Test Manuals for further details. A video demo and a sample rating scale are posted below.
